One time use chips (when the ink level reaches empty on the cartridge chip it will need to be replaced) This kit contains additional chips to replace when the cartridges reaches empty. The ink level displayed on the chip and screen are based on the same volume as Epson 812XL OEM chips.  100mls of BK ink equates to around 5 chips, and 100mls of coloured ink equates to 6 chips.

Genuine Epson 812XL brand ink cartridges contain the following ink volumes
BK - 18.9mls (5 chips provided equate to roughly 94.5mls)
C, M & Y - 14.7mls (6 chips per colour provided equate to roughly 88.2mls per colour)

Kit contains equivalent of 5 x BK and 18 x CMY 812XL series cartridges. The total ISO yeld of 25,300 pages (ISO yield represents around 5% page coverage) at just over 1c per page.  At 100% page coverage this kit will give you 1,265 pages at 23.6c per page.  Most sublimation images are not an entire 100% A4 page coverage so per page cost average is likley ~ 14c per page based on the cost of this kit.

Sublimation Ink is a specialised product used for printing images onto garments or sublimation treated products (i.e. mugs). Once an image is printed onto 'sublimation paper' the image is transferred using a heat press. The application of heat and pressure causes the dyes in the image to convert to a gas. The heat applied to the object being printed causes the 'pores' of the object to open. Rapid removal of the heat causes these 'pores' to close and the gas (now trapped in the 'pores') converts back to a solid, leaving the coloured image.

These sublimation inks are suitable for use in any Epson Inkjet printer using 812XL ink cartridges as they use an electronic print head system (Piezo). The printed output will appear dull compared to printing using 'normal' printing inks, this is normal with sublimation prints, however once heat pressed the colours will become vibrant. It goes without saying but sublimation inks are not suitable or used for 'everyday' printing and typically the printer is used solely for use with sublimation inks.
