Due to changes in canon security, resettable 680/681 chips are non-existent worldwide. Whilst our cartridges are chipped, the ink monitor must be disabled for use. No ink level is displayed on the computer or printer. The monitor will indicate unknown levels (⊗). This means cartridges MUST be visually monitored regularly by removing and sight checking ink levels.
The only alternative to this is to use a CISS (which does not require an ink level monitor) or single use cartridges.
This product is not recommended unless you are diligent in checking the physical ink levels on the cartridges. Canon thermal print heads require ink to cool. Printing with empty cartridges will cause permanent damage. This product has been released after requests from specialist ink printer users and should be used only if you understand and accept the risk.
Continuous ink systems or single use cartridges are the alternatives and should be strongly considered if you feel you may neglect to keep the physical ink levels topped up. Rihac will take no responsibility for damaged print head |
